Blackfeet Nation Drought Resilience and Climate Adapation
Tyrel Fenner, Blackfeet Water Department Hydrologist
Tyrel Fenner was raised in the Babb area of the Blackfeet reservation. Tyrel has always been fascinated by the fact that he is from the headwaters of the continent and has fostered his interests in river geomorphology, the water cycle and fisheries by becoming a hydrologist along the Backbone of the World, or Great Divide.
Tyrel works with the U.S. Geological Survey and other agencies and partners to quantify the amount of water that flows through the Blackfeet Nation. He’s also involved in a number of climate resilience strategies using traditional knowledge and technologies.
