Bittersweet Goodbyes

We have some big news to share. GTMA's wonderful Community Engagement Coordinator, Jordyn Steele, will be stepping down at the end of August for a new job with Glacier National Park. While we are quite sad to see Jordyn go, we are so grateful for all she has accomplished during her time with GTMA. We are also excited for her next professional adventure, which, thankfully, will keep her in East Glacier Park! In her 18 months (and counting) with GTMA, Jordyn has done amazing work to grow our stewardship program – particularly the fight against noxious weeds – to get youth out on the land, to expand our speaker series, and to launch a Bear Smart Community Initiative. We’re also so thankful for her efforts to cultivate both existing and new partnerships and community relationships, especially within the Blackfeet community here on the Reservation. GTMA is a stronger, more effective organization today because of the additional skills, energy, and dedication she has brought to the position. Her last day with GTMA is August 31.

Please join us in thanking her and wishing her the best with the new job!

We’re Hiring!

Her departure means GTMA is hiring! We are looking for someone with superb organizational and communication skills, who is a self-motivator, problem solver, and people-person to be our new Stewardship and Engagement Specialist. The right candidate is someone who likes to organize projects, build relationships, and engage others in a cause. Primary duties include coordinating collaborative invasive species management and other volunteer-oriented stewardship projects, developing our Bear Smart Community Initiative, planning educational events, coordinating citizen science projects, organizing youth-focused and other recreational outings, and representing GTMA to the community and to various partners. The position also assists with advocacy work and core operations, including communications and marketing, as well as some fundraising and administrative support.

Does this position sound like your dream position or that of someone you know? Please help us find the right candidate by sharing this announcement widely. Thank you!

We hope to have the position filled before the Fall Gathering in September.
